Frequently Asked Questions
How is Wildgood made?
Wildgood begins with Greek olive oil. All of our olive oil is pressed on our founder’s family orchards using centuries-old techniques. Once the olive oil has reached the perfect consistency, we combine it with ingredients such as organic ground coffee, Alphonso mango, and Oregon hazelnuts. The process for making Wildgood combines artisan tradition with a bold modern vision of plant-based indulgence.
Where is Wildgood made?
Our extra virgin olive oil is hand-pressed in our founder’s family olive groves in Greece. After harvesting and pressing in Greece, our olive oil is sent to the U.S., where filtered water, plant-based proteins and fibers and premium ingredients such as organic coffee, fresh pistachios and Alphonso mango are churned to create the finished product.
Is Wildgood considered ice cream?
Technically, no! Wildgood contains zero cream or other dairy products therefore it is considered ‘Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert’. We believe our unique formula offers the ultimate replacement for dairy. You have to try it to believe it.
Does Wildgood contain any “alternative milks”?
No. No almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, oat milk, or milk or cream of any kind. Wildgood is crafted with extra virgin olive oil, the highest quality flavor ingredients (like organic coffee and Alphonso mangos), fructose (derived from beets), a plant-based fiber, a plant-based protein, a plant-based emulsifier, and water.
How does Wildgood have such a creamy texture?
Wildgood’s recipe was painstakingly crafted by our founder (an artisan Greek ice cream maker and olive oil expert) over the course of eight years. While many think it’s magic, there are no tricks to Wildgood, just techniques passed down through generations and a lot of trial and error.
Are your products allergen-free?
Wildgood products are made without dairy, gluten, eggs, soy, or peanuts; however, our Pistachio and Chocolate Hazelnut flavors do contain tree nuts. Our products are manufactured in a facility that also processes milk, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soy, so we cannot guarantee that they are 100% free of these allergens. However, we do follow an allergen cleanse protocol to reduce the potential for cross-contamination on shared machinery.
Are your products vegan?
All Wildgood products are certified vegan and certified plant-based.
Are your products gluten-free?
Wildgood products are naturally gluten-free, however, our products are manufactured in a facility that also makes products with gluten, so please exercise caution if you have any gluten allergies.
Do your products contain high fructose corn syrup?
No, Wildgood products do not contain high fructose corn syrup or any other ingredients derived from corn.
What sweeteners does Wildgood contain?
Wildgood is crafted with non-GMO fructose derived from beets. Fructose acts as an emulsifier in our recipe and allows us to avoid using stabilizers found in other ice creams (such as carrageenan, guar gum, and xanthan gum). Wildgood does not contain erythritol or other sugar alcohols.
Does Wildgood taste like olives?
No. We appreciate a good olive… but we also love our non-dairy frozen dessert to be olive-taste-free. Wildgood uses premium olive oil and has no olive taste.
Is Wildgood non-GMO?
All of our ingredients are non-GMO and we are currently working to complete the certification process. Stay tuned!
Is Wildgood organic?
Wildgood is not certified organic. However, pursuing an organic certification is at the top of our to-do list. Please continue to check back for updates.
What is Wildgood’s fat content?
Wildgood has remarkably low saturated fat. Each serving of Wildgood contains under 2 grams of saturated fat per serving.
Does Wildgood contain artificial colors, flavors, or carrageenan?
